2011 Talks

Open Source Intelligence is not just Facebook

This presentation will give some case studies of online investigations for fun, profit or personal vendetta. It will also demonstrate a number of new data sources for open source intelligence and how to structure your information for the greatest certainty before you go dropping the wrong "dox".

Speaker: Kayne

Kayne's current dayjob is security intelligence in the finance industry, following on from his security work in federal government and his past as a sysadmin in private enterprise and the education sector.

He volunteers his time for the Shadowserver Foundation. Established in 2004, The Shadowserver Foundation gathers intelligence on the darker side of the internet. We are comprised of volunteer security professionals from around the world. Our mission is to understand and help put a stop to high stakes cybercrime in the information age.
