Browser GFX Security

The ubiquitous nature of GPU support in consumer grade hardware has seen a recent push to bring hardware accelerated 3D rendering to the browser. This talk will discuss:

  • the new client-side attack surface in WebGL and Flash Stage3D
  • the types of vulnerabilities being found in WebGL and Stage3D, and how they were found
  • the hardening techniques that have been adopted, and what more could be done in the future
